Exploring the Catalogue
You can browse the collection through four thematic categories, each grouping works that share formal or thematic affinities. Many books could reasonably appear in more than one category; the assignments are intended as navigation aids rather than definitive judgments. Alternatively, use the site’s search feature or browse by author, title, or keywords. Every book record provides bibliographic details, a descriptive note, and a direct link to the full text.
Book Records
Each entry includes the title, author(s), digital source (Project Gutenberg), subject keywords, a target-reader note, and a supplementary catalogue note. The catalogue note offers a concise reading perspective—for example, noting thematic oppositions, editorial history, or structural patterns—but does not substitute for reading the work itself.
Source Attribution
All texts in the catalogue are public-domain editions originally published by Project Gutenberg. While the catalogue notes and editorial content are prepared independently, the underlying literary works are unaltered reproductions of historical editions. No modifications have been made to the text except for formatting.
Categories
The collection is organized into four categories: Adventure Picaresque Fiction; Fantasy Juvenile Worlds; Science Fiction Utopias; and Historical Psychological Social Fiction. Each category page offers a guide with recommended works and commentary.

Project Gutenberg is identified as the digital source for the edition available here; its release year is therefore shown as Gutenberg Release Year, not as the work’s original publication year.
When an explicit first-publication or issue date can be supported directly by the title or issue information, it may be shown separately as First Publication Year. When that date cannot be confirmed, the catalogue displays Not confirmed rather than guessing a year.
Where the source text can be measured reliably, the catalogue may provide word count and estimated reading time. These measurements describe reading scope and are not quality rankings.
